Gansu Silk Road Culture Stands out at ICIF 2015

Gansu province's efforts to promote its Silk Road culture helped attract many visitors to its exhibition hall at the 11th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industry Fair (ICIF) in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on May 14-18.

At the fair, the Gansu exhibition hall focused on presenting "magnificent Gansu culture" and had Silk Road scenery pictures decorating the hall. Gansu's pavilion aims to display the province's achievements in integrating the development of culture, tourism, trade and finance and in practicing the Belt and Road Initiatives.

Gansu has made efforts to develop its Silk Road-related culture, trade, science and tourism in recent years. The province sits alongside the Silk Road route - an ancient trade road connecting North China with Europe.

The Gansu delegation consists of 300 people representing provincial cultural departments, city government offices and more than 100 enterprises.

Lian Ji, minister of the Gansu Publicity Department, attended the opening ceremony of the Gansu exhibition hall on May 14.

The five-day cultural fair peaked with the total number of participants reaching 18,000, comprising of buyers and exhibitors from 97 countries and regions. A Silk Road Exhibition Hall has been set up this year to emphasize the Belt and Road Initiatives.
