Coach tickets in Karamay will be available for purchase online in October, according to transport officials.

As a major livelihoods project by China's Ministry of Transport, the online ticket sales system in Xinjiang is currently under construction. According to plans, 21 coach stations in Xinjiang will provide access to the online ticketing service in October.

Road transportation is the most important mode of transport in Xinjiang, according to an official from the Xinjiang Road Transport Bureau. The online ticketing service is expected to bring more convenience to people travelling around Xinjiang.

Tickets will be available for purchase online and can be picked up at automatic ticket machines located in passenger stations.

More than 10 provinces in the country have launched the online ticket-booking system, including Gansu, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Zhejiang.
