China Xi'an Strengthen Cooperation with Kazakhstan

The International Trade and Logistics Park in the city of Xi’an, Shaanxi province, signed an agreement with the Kazakhstan State-owned Railway Company on June 24.

The agreement was designed to improve cooperation between the two sides in terms of trade transportation, by making use of the park’s geographical proximity to Central Asia and its preferential policies. The park will also cooperate with the railway company in the fields of railway distribution, goods transit and customs clearance.

The International Trade and Logistics Park opened the freight train, Chang’an, in 2013, which runs regularly between Xi’an and Central Asia. The train has delivered as much as 120,000 tons of goods valued at $185 million to more than 40 cities across Central Asia.

Kazakhstan State-owned Railway Company is the main operator of Kazakh railway networks. It has 26 subsidiaries and owns 14,000 kilometers of railway.
